Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Alalshikh, Saudi adviser and the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has established the "Big Time" Investment Fund to raise the quality of Arabic content and filmmaking.
In its first phase, the fund aims to invest in the most important Saudi, Gulf, and Arab films by the biggest stars of the Arab world.
The slate consists of 15 films and features projects such as "Quota" directed by Mohamed Diab and starring Karim Abdel Aziz, "Shoghl Cairo" starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Nancy Ajram in her acting debut, and "Rumah" directed by Diab and starring Asser Yassin.
The slate also features two other films by co-starring Yassin and Ahmed Ezz: "Ferqat Al Mawt" and "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya".
The GEA will serve as a main sponsor of the fund and the Ministry of Culture as a co-sponsor, along with a group of companies specialized in the field, including Rotana Audio and Visual Company, Benchmark, and Piesquare Artistic Production Company.
