Twitter users in Turkey have been able to use the platform again, following reports that access to it was restricted inside the country following the two devastating earthquakes earlier this week.

Twitter was made available Thursday morning without resorting to remote access services, "VPN".

NetBlocks, an organization that monitors internet restrictions, cited several internet providers in Turkey as saying that access to the platform was restricted on Wednesday; two days after a major earthquake killed thousands in southern Turkey and northern Syria.

At that time, users were able to access Twitter by resorting to VPN access services only.

At first, there was no official confirmation of the mentioned restrictions.

Turkish politicians and celebrities accused the Turkish government of deliberately disrupting communication via Twitter.

On his part, Twitter CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet," Twitter has been informed by the Turkish government that access will be reenabled shortly.”

In the past few days, people from the rubble have used social media to seek help.
