Turkey has declared that it will not accept being turned into a refugee camp or border guard for any country, and will not in any way assume the international obligations of other countries.

This came in the comment of the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman, Tango Bilgic, on statements quoted by British media about Foreign Minister Liz Truss, in which she stated that, if she wins the leadership of the British government, she will ask Turkey to sign an agreement similar to the agreement signed between her country and Rwanda on the reception of refugees on its lands.

Last April, the British government revealed a plan to deport asylum seekers from its territory to Rwanda in East Africa, under a migration agreement signed by the two sides, which provides for people to be granted residence and support in Rwanda while their asylum application is being considered.
