Turkey's Official Gazette published today, Friday, a presidential decree that included imposing an additional 40 percent duty on electric vehicles imports from China.

Turkey introduced its first domestically produced electric car, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan seeks to highlight economic successes ahead of elections next year.

Erdogan said after driving the first car that came off the production line: “The local Turkish car, "Tog" , will reach the roads of Europe with all its models.” "They will say that crazy Turks are coming," he added.
