Tunisian Defense Minister Imed Memish confirmed on Friday the depth of historic relations between Tunisia and US.
He added that the convening of the joint military committee on a regular basis is evidence of the keenness of both sides to further coordinate joint efforts and support bilateral relations and joint cooperation programs.
Tunisian Defense Minister's statements came during a meeting he held with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs Jennifer Zaki and US Ambassador to Tunisia, according to a statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Defense.
For her part, the American official stressed that this meeting is an opportunity to stand on the depth and strength of military relations between the two friendly countries.
Moreover, she stressed her country's continued support for Tunisia to develop the operational capabilities of the military institution in several areas related to training, education, and the exchange of experiences and technical assistance.
