The famous Tunisian singer Naama died earlier today, Sunday at the age of 86 after a long battle with illness. The singer was Tunisia’s art ambassador abroad for years.

Naama earned her Tunisian art ambassador title after performing in many different festivals abroad where she represented the Tunisian artists and singers. She performed in the 1966 Miss Arab Festival in Beirut and the 1969 Cairo Millennium Festival.

It is also noteworthy that Naama started singing career when she was only 11 years old before joining the Tunisian national radio in 1958.

A number of Tunisian actors and singers- like Hend Sabry and Latifa- expressed their sadness and sent their condolences to Naama’s family on the different social media platforms.
