British actress, Emma Watson started trending on Thursday after an online report claimed that she had retired from acting.
“The Daily Mail” quoted a source saying, ‘Emma has gone underground, she is settling down with Leo. They’re laying low. Maybe she wants a family.’
However, the actress’ manager, Jason Weinberg, dispelled the report, noting that Watson’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t.
The 30-year-old actress’ Instagram account bio currently reads: ‘Emma’s official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated”, while her profile picture is a simple black icon.
The retirement rumor shook many of Watson’s fans who took to social media to celebrate her films and characters. She quickly began trending on Twitter with fans even paying tributes.
The actress is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise alongside co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Watson was last seen in Greta Gerwig’s 2019 film “Little Women” opposite Saorise Ronan, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep. She doesn’t have any upcoming projects.
In November 2020, the actress made a rare public outing with her boyfriend, LA businessman Leo Robinton, in London grabbing coffee and hanging out. The pair were first spotted together in October. Robinton reportedly deleted all his social media accounts after photos of them surfaced.
The couple has rarely been seen together since.
