The White House on Tuesday released a congratulatory message from President Donald Trump on the occasion of the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
In the message published on the official White House website, Trump addressed Muslims, stating: "The month of Ramadan is a sacred time for many Americans."
Trump noted that Ramadan is a month for spiritual renewal and reflection.
The message read: "Ramadan is a sacred period for expressing gratitude for God's countless blessings. For many Americans, this holy time highlights prayer and fasting, strengthens the bonds of family and community, and reaffirms our shared values of empathy, charity, compassion, and humility."
Trump also emphasized that his administration is working to ensure that all citizens are able to practice their beliefs freely.
"In this season of grace and benevolence, I wish for happiness and tranquility in homes, for peace to prevail in the world, and for blessings in the year to come," Trump concluded
