Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has pledged to prosecute Google if reelected, accusing the tech giant of skewing search results to harm his campaign and favor his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump claims Google has intentionally promoted negative stories about him while highlighting favorable ones about Harris.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump urged the Department of Justice to criminally prosecute Google’s parent company, Alphabet, for what he calls "blatant interference in elections." He vowed to request the company's prosecution if he wins the presidency in November.

The accusations follow a recent study by the conservative Media Research Center, which suggested Google prioritized Harris’ campaign website over Trump’s in search results. Google has denied these claims, stating it does not manipulate its search algorithms to favor any political party.

Trump’s criticism of Google is not new. He has previously accused the company of prioritizing "fake news" and suppressing conservative content, allegations the tech giant has consistently refuted.

Google maintains that its search results for political candidates are unbiased, with both Trump’s and Harris’ campaign websites appearing prominently for relevant searches.

In July, billionaire Elon Musk echoed similar claims, accusing Google of bias against Trump. Musk shared a screenshot showing Google’s autocomplete feature suggesting "Donald Duck" and "Donald Reagan" instead of "Donald Trump" when searching for "President Donald." Google later acknowledged technical issues with the autocomplete function at the time.
