U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States has completely eliminated the Islamic State presence in Nigeria, declaring that American military and intelligence operations have achieved their objectives in full.

Trump said targeted strikes against ISIS positions destroyed the group’s organizational structure and stripped it of the ability to carry out any future attacks inside Nigeria or across the surrounding region. He described the outcome as a decisive blow to terrorism in West Africa.

The U.S. president added that the operation was the result of intensive security and intelligence cooperation with partners, carried out as part of a broader strategy to combat terrorism and safeguard international security. He said Washington remains committed to pursuing extremist groups wherever they operate and preventing them from re-establishing safe havens.
