U.S. President Donald Trump has offered high praise for China, emphasizing that Beijing’s recent actions earn it "great respect."
Speaking at a forum in Miami, Trump stated: "We must have great respect for China for the work they are doing. Whether you like it or not, respecting them is essential."
President Trump also confirmed his plans to visit China this coming May. This follows a statement by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, who noted that Beijing and Washington remain in constant communication regarding the U.S. President’s upcoming visit.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Trump is scheduled to visit Beijing on May 14 and 15 for high-level talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The visit was originally slated to take place from March 31 to April 2. However, the schedule was adjusted and the trip postponed due to the ongoing military operations against Iran.
