U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he has instructed the Department of Defense to postpone all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days.

In a post on his "Truth Social" account, Trump stated that the United States and Iran have engaged in "good and productive" talks over the past two days regarding reaching a full and comprehensive solution.

"I am pleased to inform the public that over the last two days, the United States and Iran have held very 'good and productive' talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive resolution to the hostilities in the Middle East," Trump added.

The President further described these discussions as "in-depth, detailed, and constructive," noting that they will continue throughout the current week.

He indicated that his directives to the Department of Defense to delay strikes on Iranian energy facilities and infrastructure are contingent upon the outcomes of the ongoing meetings and discussions.
