U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered a comprehensive blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving Venezuela, escalating pressure on the government of President Nicolás Maduro, according to Al Qahera News.
Trump said the U.S. naval presence surrounding Venezuela would be expanded, describing the Maduro government as “illegitimate” and accusing it of using “stolen” oil revenues to finance its rule.
In a further escalation, the U.S. president announced the designation of the Venezuelan regime as a **Foreign Terrorist Organization**, warning that Caracas would face an “unprecedented shock.” Trump claimed that Venezuela is now “completely encircled” by what he described as the largest naval fleet ever deployed in South American waters.
The announcements mark a sharp intensification of U.S. measures against Venezuela, adding military enforcement to existing sanctions targeting the country’s vital oil sector, the backbone of its economy.
There was no immediate response from Venezuelan authorities at the time of publication.
