U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Delcy Rodriguez, who was sworn in as President of Venezuela on Monday, had not cooperated with his administration prior to the ousting of Nicolas Maduro.

In press statements to the American network NBC, Trump confirmed that there was no communication with her before last Saturday's military operation, which resulted in Maduro’s removal and his subsequent transfer, along with his wife, to the United States to face charges related to drug trafficking and weapons possession.

Trump added on Tuesday that the military operation was conducted without any assistance from Maduro’s inner circle. However, he noted that a group of those officials would contribute to overseeing the American intervention in the coming period.

Furthermore, Trump dismissed any possibility of holding elections within the next month, stating they would be delayed until internal reforms are implemented in Venezuela.

He also mentioned that the United States might assist in rebuilding Venezuela's energy infrastructure, emphasizing that his country is not "at war with Venezuela."
