U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran is seeking to reach an agreement with the United States, confirming that military operations related to the security of the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing alongside international diplomatic efforts.
Trump noted that Tehran is interested in a deal and is engaged in talks with representatives of the United States.
Moreover, he pointed out that there are leaders within Iran who wish to negotiate; however, he added that Washington is currently uncertain about who is effectively leading the country.
The U.S. President added that American forces are currently targeting areas within Iran associated with the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the objective of these operations is to ensure the safety of navigation in the strait.
Trump explained that he spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting that Paris could provide assistance in this matter.
Furthermore, Trump announced that the United States will release a list of countries participating in the coalition to protect the Strait of Hormuz.
While Washington expects "good cooperation" from some nations, he indicated that the U.S. might be disappointed by the stance of others.
