U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States has become “much greater than before” as he highlighted his administration’s achievements on the economy, immigration and security during his State of the Union address to Congress.

Trump said his administration had restored stability and reduced crime, declaring that “within one year we eliminated chaos and crime.” He also claimed that U.S. borders are now secure and that other countries “fear” the United States, while the economy continues to advance.

The president asserted that inflation had been significantly reduced since he took office, saying his administration lowered the rate to 1.7% within three months and brought inflation to its lowest level in five years. He blamed the previous administration for leaving behind what he described as the worst inflation levels in U.S. history.

Trump also said no migrants had entered the United States illegally over the past nine months, describing border security as one of his administration’s major achievements.

On economic policy, Trump said his administration had succeeded in reducing gasoline and housing prices and had attracted more than $1 trillion in investments within roughly a year. He criticized high interest rates under the previous administration and pledged continued efforts to lower costs for American households.

The president also defended his tariff policies despite a recent Supreme Court ruling he described as “unfortunate,” arguing that many countries remain willing to pay tariffs. Trump said tariffs could eventually replace income taxes, which he said place a heavy burden on American citizens.

In the area of healthcare, Trump said his administration had reformed what he called a “disastrous” system and promised lower prices for medicines, healthcare and electricity. He urged Congress to approve his administration’s program, saying it would benefit American citizens.

Trump also suggested he should be allowed to seek a third presidential term, while outlining future plans that include a retirement program to be announced next year and expanded benefits for workers comparable to those provided to government employees.
