Former US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he believed China would invade Taiwan, saying he expected it to happen sooner rather than later.
Asked during an interview with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo if he thought the “Chinese invasion” would happen sooner, Trump said, “Of course, they will, sooner, because they see how stupid the US administration is.”
He added the Chinese see the leaders of the United States as incompetent, and of course, they will – this is their time.
It is worth noting that a US delegation led by former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mike Mullen is scheduled to visit Taiwan this week to meet with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen and other Taiwanese officials to show their support for the island. The planned visit drew criticism from Beijing.
