Former US President Donald Trump, who recently announced his candidacy to run for the presidency in 2024, called for an end to the constitution to cancel the results of the 2020 elections.

Trump made the remarks in a post on his social network Truth on Saturday while repeating his false claim of winning the 2020 presidential election.

He also accused "Big Tech Companies" of colluding against him with the Democrats.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates said Trump's comments were "anathema to the soul of our nation".

"You cannot only love America when you win," Bates said in a statement.

He added that the former president's comments should be "condemned globally" - apparently a heavy blow to senior Republicans who have so far avoided criticizing the ex-president's wrath.

In the post, Trump referred to vague allegations of "widespread fraud and disinformation" and asked if he should be reinstated in power immediately.

The post came just hours after Twitter's internal deliberations about restricting a 2020 story about Hunter Biden were revealed.

The story, which came weeks before the 2020 presidential election, was reported by the New York Post and revealed the messy personal life and business dealings of President Joe Biden's youngest son.

However, he came under fire this week after dining with a well-known white nationalist and Holocaust denier at his Florida home.

Trump announced his third presidential bid last month and is a frontrunner to seal the Republican nomination in 2024.
