U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that the United States maintains military bases in Greenland, emphasizing that what Washington requires is ownership and strategic control.
He vowed that the U.S. would not allow Russia or China to seize the island.
Trump noted that U.S. policy toward Greenland aims to bolster its military presence and protect strategic interests, asserting that American bases there are essential for both regional and international security.
The U.S. President added that his policy regarding Greenland has unsettled some NATO members; however, he stressed that U.S. relations with the alliance remain strong and that coordination continues to ensure the interests of both parties.
Trump further emphasized that any Russian or Chinese attempt to control Greenland would not be permitted, confirming that the U.S. administration is committed to preserving the island’s vital strategic position.
