US forthcoming President Donald Trump appointed, on Tuesday, trending billionaire Elon Musk and the former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.
The department is not a government body, and the two officials will work from outside the governmental headquarters.
This department is created to offer the White House “advice and guidance” and will partner with the Office of Management and Budget to “drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to government never seen before," Trump said.
Trump said that Musk and Ramaswamy “will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies”.
On his side, Musk revealed on "X" that he will document all actions of the department online for “maximum transparency”.
Musk added: “Anytime the public thinks we are cutting something important or not cutting something wasteful, just let us know!”
