President-elect Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at St. John’s Episcopal Church, alongside Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, to begin the traditional inaugural day events. The visit to the historic church marks the start of the presidential oath-taking ceremonies, a custom that dates back to Franklin Roosevelt’s inauguration in 1933.

While St. John’s Church, located near the White House, has hosted most inaugural church services, President Joe Biden chose St. Matthew’s Cathedral for his 2021 inauguration.

According to CNN, Melania Trump has spent the past two months preparing for her return to the White House and her role as First Lady, a position she sometimes found challenging during her previous tenure. She has also been focusing on foreign affairs and has privately engaged with prominent figures at Mar-a-Lago in recent weeks to prepare for the responsibilities of her renewed role.
