Planning, Immigration Provide Training Opportunities for Egyptian Students Abroad

Within the framework of the "Young Learners Abroad" initiative, and the attempts of attracting Egyptian expatriate students and linking them to their motherland, Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, has met with Dr. Hala El-Saeed, the Planning and Economic Development Minister; to discuss the possibility of providing training opportunities for Egyptian students abroad during their vacation period in Egypt.

During the meeting, it was agreed to provide training opportunities at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development for Egyptians studying abroad, according to their specialization and their compatibility with the files of the ministry.

Makram assured that the Ministry of Planning is the first of the ministries and agencies that she had coordinated with, in order to provide those training opportunities within the framework of the program organized by the Ministry of Immigration for them during their summer vacations in Egypt.

The Minister of Immigration added that, coordination will be made with ministries and authorities to provide a training period for them so that they also get to know closely about the work environment in Egypt and get acquainted directly with the job opportunities in Egypt in all fields compatible with their specializations.

She invited all Egyptian students abroad who are currently in Egypt for the summer vacation, to contact the Ministry's team to participate in the ministry's programs by sending all their data and academic specializations to the following e-mails:

This initiative came in response to Egyptians studying abroad personal request to help their country with the specializations of their studies, noting that she promised them to cooperate with various ministries and institutions to organize a training period during their stay in Egypt in the fields of their specialization, so that their country could benefit from the knowledge they have received abroad.

Meanwhile, El-Saeed indicated that the state is aiming to expand investment in "people", qualify young people for leadership, and achieve the strategic goal set by the government under the direction and mandate of the political leadership, which is "building the Egyptian people", which comes at the top of priorities.

El-Saeed also stressed the importance of preparing and qualifying youth and encouraging their participation in national work, supporting and investing their energies and working to raise their competencies and capabilities.

The minister praised the efforts of the Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Ministry and its constant endeavor to create a state of continuous communication between the Egyptian state and its children abroad and to strengthen their relationship with their motherland, stressing the full support given by Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to young Egyptians studying abroad and its readiness to provide distinguished training opportunities for them in all fields.

She also pointed the importance of educating students abroad about the goals of the sustainable development strategy: Egypt's 2030 Agenda, and the ministry's efforts to localize its goals in the various governorates, and inviting them to share their views in the process of updating the vision, noting the importance of considering their visions and ideas in the Egyptian reformation plan.

She added that these young people are "our ambassadors abroad to convey the achievement that the Egyptian state has achieved" in a short period of time, and the proactive measures taken by the Egyptian state, to contain the global Corona virus crisis and recover from it.
