The traffic movement returned back to normal on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road, after the El-Thalaga pedestrian bridge was lifted in the West Shubra Al-Khaimah district, after it fell earlier at dawn on Thursday.
Traffic on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road in the direction coming from Cairo has been opened to cars, according to what was announced by the Governor of Qalyubia, Abdel Hamid El-Hagan.
El-Hagan followed up on the process of raising the bridge, so that traffic flows in an orderly manner in front of citizens on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road.
It is noteworthy that the pedestrian bridge fell at dawn today due to the collision of a transport vehicle loaded with an excavator, leading to the closure of the road in both directions without causing any losses.
The Armed Forces Engineering Authority sent 4 cranes, belonging to the Arab Contractors Company, to lift the bridge, after inspecting the accident site.
Meantime, the governor decided to form an immediate engineering committee to complete the construction of a new pedestrian bridge.
