Traffic Accident in Algeria Leaves 8 Dead

A total of eight people were killed in a terrible traffic accident in Algeria, the state’s Civil Protection Units reported on Saturday.

The authorities indicated that a car collided with a semi-trailer truck on National Road No. 78 in Al-Dhaya district in Batna province, according to a preliminary toll.

In 2022, Algeria recorded a heavy death toll due to traffic accidents, according to official figures announced by the Traffic Coordination Center of the National Gendarmerie.

The nation witnessed over 5,822 traffic accidents last year, leaving 2,512 people dead and 966 others injured.
