Tourists, who arrived earlier in the Red Sea and South Sinai governorates, began on Thursday to return home without registering any coronavirus infections among them.

Since July 1, Ukrainian, Swiss, and Belarusian tourists had spent a one-week holiday in Egypt's resorts, especially Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry said in a statement.

The tourists hailed the Egyptian precautionary measures, implemented at the hotels in the two Red Sea resorts, saying the measures did not hinder them from enjoying their vacation.

They also commended everyone for the regulations that Egypt sent to other countries through diplomatic missions, major tour operators, and renowned tourism companies.

Meanwhile, Tamer Makram, the president of the South Sinai Investors’ Association, noted none of the members of the tour groups that have begun to return home or of those that are still in Egypt, have fallen ill.

Moreover, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El Anany, during his visit to Sharm El Sheikh, was keen on meeting tourists at beaches, checking on the commitment to the precautionary measures.
