Tourism Min. Participates in Egyptian-Chinese Partnership Year Celebration

Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy participated in an event organized by the China Media Group in cooperation with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The event took place at one of the hotels near the Giza Pyramids area to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, as well as the Egyptian-Chinese Partnership Year.

The celebration was attended by Mr. Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the China Media Group; Ambassador Liao Li Chang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Egypt and Delegate of the People's Republic of China to the League of Arab States; Mr. Hussein Zein, Chairman of the National Media Authority; Ambassador Omar Selim, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations and Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Amir Nabih Tadros, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for External Cultural Relations; Mr. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company; and artist, Hussein Fahmy, President of the 45th Cairo International Film Festival.

Fathy expressed his happiness to participate in this important event and highlighted the positive developments in Egyptian-Chinese relations over the past decade.

He also emphasized the shared cooperation in various fields, including tourism and antiquities, such as the presence of three Chinese archaeological missions in Egypt and the recent temporary exhibition of Egyptian antiquities at the Shanghai Museum.

In his address, Shen extended his sincere thanks to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Chinese Embassy in Egypt for their support in holding the event.

He acknowledged the historic ties between the two countries and expressed his appreciation for the warmth and hospitality he experienced during his visit to Cairo.
