The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr Khaled El Anany lectured on Friday at the headquarter of UNESCO in Paris. The lecture tackled various topics such as the latest archaeological discoveries, the projects of antiquities restoration, museums establishment, and many more.
More than 100 ambassadors, archaeological and heritage experts, several UNESCO’s officials and representatives attended the lecture.
During the lecture, El Anany shed light on Egypt’s achievements in preserving its heritage and establishing new archaeological projects, alongside announcing archaeological discoveries.
He talked about the new developments, attached to famous archaeological sites, to upgrade the services presented to guests such as Pyramids, and Saladin Citadel.
Moreover, the minister mentioned the opening of the Pyramid of Djoser, and its tomb, the Museum of Hurghada, as well as the museum in Sharm El Sheikh.
After that, he explained that the opening of Al Fatha Mosque and the Church of St. Mark on the same day symbolized Egypt’s position as a centre of religions and country of peace
Finally, the minister highlighted the latest archaeological missions in Giza and Cairo; the restored antiquities that were smuggled and got them back home again.
