On Wednesday, top diplomates from China and the US discussed the current escalations in Gaza, and the conflict between Hamas and Israel, AFP reported.
Both Beijing and Washington said that they agreed on ending the current escalations in Gaza.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken "reiterated the imperative of all parties working to prevent the conflict from spreading", the US State Department stated.
On its side, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said: "the top priority is to cease fire and end the war as soon as possible".
Wang added: "Major countries must adhere to fairness and justice, uphold objectivity and impartiality, demonstrate calm and rationality, and make every effort to cool down the situation and prevent larger-scale humanitarian disasters."
He asserted that China's call for a two-state solution, asserting that "any arrangement involving the future of Palestine must reflect the will of the Palestinian people".
"China is willing to work with all parties to make efforts to this end," the Chinese official said.
The discussions between China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken came in a phone call.
