Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and his actress wife, Rita Wilson, have both tested positive for coronavirus.
He announced the couple’s diagnosis on social media accounts, including Instagram and Twitter, along with a photo of a surgical glove placed inside a biohazard trash bag.
Hanks said that he and his wife came down with a fever while in Australia, where he was set to film his new movie about the life of Elvis Presley.
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia,” he wrote. “We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”
“We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!”
Both Hanks and Wilson are 63. The couple tied the knot in 1988, and they have two sons, Chester and Truman. She also has two stepchildren, Colin and Elizabeth Hanks.

Hanks is the first leading Hollywood star to be infected with the virus that is sweeping the world.
The Elvis film directed by Baz Luhrmann features Hanks as the legendary singer's longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker.
The Warner Bros film was in pre-production on the Gold Coast when Hanks was diagnosed, and has been halted while the situation is monitored.
Furthermore, the company announced in a press statement that the health and safety of its members is always their top priority.
"We are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world," it added.
