Although US animator, filmmaker Gene Deitch died this year on April 16, many people seemed to still remember him due to his famous works such as the legend “Tom and Jerry.”

People are sharing a poster of Deithch along with Tom and Jerry’s characters , captioning, “Thank You For Making Our Childhood Memorable,” and R.I.P. Gene Deitch.

Even though Deitch died about 6 months ago, it seems that he still brings back many childhood memories.

Deitch was an American Oscar-winning illustrator, animator, film director and producer, who was born in 8 Aug, 1924, in Chicago.

He worked from behind the Iron Curtain, as he directed 13 episodes of “Tom and Jerry” and also some of the “Popeye the Sailor” series.

His “Nudnik” series was created in 1991, which showed the 12 classic shorts in syndication, and discovered by later generations when it aired on Cartoon Network in 1996. The character's tagline is "Whatever can go wrong with Nudnik, will go wrong."
