The Weeknd is trying his hand at acting with the HBO Max cult drama series, "The Idol".
He is also set to co-write and executive produce the series, which is being co-created by BAFTA Award-winning Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim, a former nightlife entrepreneur-turned-writer, who is also The Weeknd’s producing partner.
"The Idol", which is currently in development, centers around a female pop singer who begins a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner, who is secretly the leader of a cult.
The project marks The Weeknd’s first foray into live-action TV after he lent his voice to "American Dad!" and "Robot Chicken".
