On Wednesday, US Senators failed to agree on a draft law that includes border security and the provision of aid to Israel and Ukraine, worth $118 billion.
Republicans blocked this project, saying that an election-year compromise was “not enough,” even as the bill’s supporters insisted that it was the best possible solution in a divided government, according to Associated Press reported.
49 members voted on the project compared to 50, which is far fewer than the 60 votes needed to pass this bill, after most Republicans said they would vote against the legislation.
The project includes aid worth $60 billion to Ukraine, and $14 billion to Israel.
