The National Research Center won first place out of the total number of Egyptian scientists who were included in the Stanford list for the top 2% of scientists in the world in more than 50 scientific specializations, according to a study prepared by Stanford University in the United States.
This came in a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, explaining the presence of 100 researchers from the National Research Center on the Stanford list, who were classified from various universities and research centers, and who represent honorable models at all local, regional and international levels.
The National Research Center came in first place with 100 researchers, then Cairo University came in second place with 76 researchers, then Ain Shams University came in third place with 58 researchers, followed by Al-Azhar University with 42 researchers.
Dr. Fajr Abdel Gawad, Acting Head of the Center, congratulated the researchers included in the list of the top 2% of the world’s most cited scientists, expressing her appreciation for the scientists who contributed through their pioneering and distinguished research to reaching this position, pointing out the criteria on which the classification was based to include researchers worldwide in this list, which are based on the number of citations to research published by these scientists, the index of the number of publications whose author was cited by other authors at least the same number of times (H-Index), the modified HM index for co-authorship, citations to research papers in different authorship positions, and a composite index (C-Score).
