The head of the Russian Community Coordinating Council Ludmila Salama formally chaired and inaugurated the Council at its 27th meeting, held on 17 November.
The event was held in the presence of the Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgiy Borisenko and the director of Russian Cultural Center Murad Gatin , together with Head of the Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities Sherif Gad and the representatives of the community.
Borisenko also took this occasion to confer words of praise upon Salama Alongside the members of the Russian Community in different regions of Egypt for their excellent approaches and fruitful contributions in enhancing the Egyptian-Russian ties.
Moreover, he stressed that the great effort made by Salama was evident in her various and extended activities in Egypt.
On her part, Salama noted the contributions of the people of the Russian community and those who have Russian origin in the political, artistic and cultural domains, saying that "they have become a part of Egypt."
In the same spirit, she expressed her gratitude to them for their work, which produced fruitful results and had a direct impact on the development of cultural ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Gatin emphasized that the Russian houses in Alexandria as well as Cairo are open to all Russians."
“There will be a new coordinated plan of action and strategy that takes care of the Russian Community's interests by 2022,” Gatin revealed.
