The Fate of Those Who Insult God and His Messenger

The late Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, a member of the Senior Scholars Council at Al-Azhar, affirmed the meaning of the verse in the Holy Quran: “Those who insult God and His Messenger, God has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment.” He indicated that those who insult the Prophet will face a humiliating punishment.

In one of his television programs, the late Omar Hashem stated that God Almighty commanded us to send blessings and peace upon His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and clarified that He, in His might and majesty, sends blessings upon the Prophet.

The member of the Senior Scholars Council at Al-Azhar added that the angels also send blessings upon the Prophet, noting that God commanded believers to send blessings and peace upon the Prophet in every prayer.

Omar Hashem further explained that sending blessings upon the Prophet resolves difficulties, fulfills needs, relieves distress, erases sins, heals and soothes hearts, and brings peace to souls.
