The film, which focuses on the second year of Wayne’s tenure as the Dark Knight, was scheduled to be released in June 2021 but was delayed twice due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

In September 2020, the movie shut down production in London after a member of the production had contracted the deadly virus. Production resumed later in the month.

“The Batman” also stars Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Andy Serkis plays Batman/Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred, Geoffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon while Peter Sarsgaard, John Turturro and Jeffrey Wright round out the cast.

It is produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Reeves had also written the screenplay with Peter Craig.
