Tens of thousands of Israelis protested against proposed judicial reforms by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government.
According to media reports, the demonstrations were held in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and a number of other cities. the protests waving flags and chanting slogans against the justice minister.
This protest is the fifth against the new government, an alliance of ultra-nationalist and far-right parties that took power last December.
The government has launched proposals to weaken the Supreme Court by giving parliament the power to overturn court decisions by a simple majority. It also wants to give parliament control over the appointment of judges and reduce the independence of legal advisers.
