The Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) suspended Friday TV presenter Tamer Amin's program on the 'Al Nahar' satellite channel, after his offensive remarks about people from Upper Egypt.

The presenter was banned from appearing on screen after stating that some people in the rural and upper regions have children to use as laborers to supplement their parents' income.

The council will meet with the presenter over his remarks next Sunday.

In a video, Amin apologized Friday morning for his offensive remarks to the people of Upper Egypt.
