Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad al-Shaibani, has departed for his first official visit to the United Kingdom (UK), following directives from President Ahmad al-Sharaa, as announced by the Minister on the X platform.
Al-Shaibani affirmed that "the visit carries the ambitions of the Syrian people and their aspiration to build a strong state that guarantees a safe and dignified future for its children and future generations," pointing to the symbolic and practical importance of this step in the path of opening channels of communication with the international community.
This visit is considered the first of its kind for a Syrian Foreign Minister to London in decades, signaling a diplomatic shift currently underway in Syria under the new presidency.
