Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced today, Sunday, that the Swedish government will contribute over €8.7 million to Ukraine as part of the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative.

In a statement via social media network X, Kristersson said, "I am pleased to announce that Sweden will provide another 100 million Swedish Krona (€8.7 million) to the 'Grain from Ukraine' initiative through the World Food Programme.

Ukraine continues to contribute to global food security, despite the ongoing war waged by Russia."

Previously, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported that Finland had pledged an additional €3 million to improve food security in Ukraine.

This funding is earmarked for supporting grain export and mine clearance in villages.

As part of the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative, Lithuania has also committed €2 million by the end of the year.

Moreover, the country is prepared to increase the capacity of Baltic ports specifically for Ukrainian exports, as reported by the Ukrainian agency.
