Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trad, confirmed that we import more than 60% of our food, pointing out that there is an increase in the price of raw materials imported from abroad.

Al-Moselhi said, during the plenary session of the House of Representatives that It is difficult to write the price of the product on all commodities, indicating that the printing machines for each product are programmed in a specific way.

The Minister of Supply revealed efforts to control the markets through the Consumer Protection Agency and the Supply Investigations, pointing out that the government resorted to pricing the price of rice to control the movement of markets and not to manipulate prices.

Al-Moselhi said, "Although we import wheat from abroad, we succeeded in the previous period by offering wheat in the Egyptian market."

The Minister of Supply added: Some deputies are calling on the government to be strict, and when we apply the severity, they criticize us and object to the pricing of commodities, and had it not been for the pricing of rice, we would have faced a real problem, explaining that the measures taken by the ministry are aimed at limiting any negative practices.

The minister continued: We must first determine what we want, do we want a forced pricing? like in the sixties.

Al-Moselhi indicated that, according to the law, the Minister of Supply has the right to price a commodity according to certain circumstances, provided that the matter is presented to the Cabinet for approval.

He pointed out that this was resorted to in 2017 to confront the sugar crisis that we faced during this period.
