The Supreme Committee for Health Emergencies in Sudan announced that the opening of the new school year will be postponed for two weeks due to the second wave of Coronavirus.

The committee stated, in a press statement, that it aims to ensure that the educational institutions apply health requirements and provide the necessary aids that enable a healthy and safe school environment.

Noteworthy, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that “remdesivir” should not be used to treat Coronavirus patients in hospitals.

According to the update, published in the medical journal the BMJ on Thursday, the organization said that there is no significant effect of “remdesivir” on the risk of dying from Covid-19 or needing mechanical ventilation.

Earlier, the organization revealed that the distribution of the emerging coronavirus vaccine “COVID-19” could be delayed due to some technical measures.

The director of the World Health Organization in Europe, Hans Kluge, said that a person dies every seventeen seconds on the continent from the Coronavirus epidemic.
