Italian reports claimed on Sunday that former Roma and Inter Milan head coach Luciano Spalletti are in talks with Al Ahly to lead the Red Devils, if the current manager Rene Weiler leaves the team.

Speculation have been raised during the last days about the future of the Swiss coach as Al Ahly's board of directors had announced that they will take their final decision in this regard by Thursday.

Weiler can leave the Red Devils during the first ten days of October with paying the release clause according to the contract signed by two parties.

According to "Inews," Spalletti has been strongly nominated to start a unique adventure in Cairo by managing the Egyptian League champions after he left Milan a year ago.

The Italian manager has not led any team outside Italy, except Zenit Saint Petersburg as he took this mission between 2009 and 2014, before returning once again to lead Rome.

The Italian network also noted that Egyptians know Spalletti very will since the Egyptian Star Mohamed Salah played under his leadership in Rome, as he netted 19 goals.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly has claimed the Egyptian League title with 21 points difference from their arch rivals Zamalek.
