On Friday, Spain coach Luis de la Fuente announced the squad of Spain for the upcoming quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League.
The newly-announced list included Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio for the first time.
Asencio presented an outstanding performance with Real Madrid this season after he was given playing time after the injury of Éder Militão.
De la Fuente praised the 22-year-old, saying: "He is having a great season and he is an example of a player who can skip ahead in the process."
De la Fuente also recalled Barcelona defender Iñigo Martínez for the first time in more than two years.
The UEFA Nations League titleholders will face the Netherlands in Rotterdam on March 20 and then again in Valencia three days later.
