On Saturday, Alexandria-based club Smouha confirmed the signing of Al Ahly winger Ziad Tarek for one year and a half as a loan deal from Al Ahly.
The 22-year-old player is one of the stars of the Al Ahly youth developmental system and was called up for the first team last season by Pitso Mosimane.
He was also enlisted in the team that win the Club World Cup bronze medal in 2022.
He made a total of 17 appearances last season.
Tarek also was the one who scored for his team against Misr El-Makkasa and the Alexandrian Ittihad. In addition, he gifted Al-Ahly a last-minute victory against Ghazl El-Mahalla after making the winning goal assist.
However, the ongoing season was not the best for the promising star as he was left out of the squad of Al-Ahly's first team for the Egyptian Premier League since the arrival of the head coach Marcel Koller.
Al Ahly received several loan offers for the player and they accepted Smouha’s offer due to the national reds' interest in Smouha's defender Khaled Abdel-Fattah.
