Sisi Urges Citizens to Continue Abiding by State's Measures

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has hailed Egyptians' and state agencies' firm implementation of precautionary measures taken by the government to curb the spread of Coronavirus, officially know as COVID-19.

He also asked citizens to continue abiding by those measures to overcome this critical time.

"In light of my timely follow-up to all efforts and measures taken to counter the outbreak of Coronavirus… I found that what has been achieved so far is good and calls for reassurance; it also reflects the seriousness and solidarity of all state agencies and citizens," the president said on "Facebook" and "Twitter".

Moreover, El Sisi called on "everyone to continue implementing these measures seriously and firmly to overcome this crisis and to preserve our country and our great people."

It is worth mentioning that, the country has so far registered 656 coronavirus cases, including 41 deaths.

Egypt has recently taken strict precautionary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, including temporary closure of schools, universities, museums and archeological sites, reducing employees and sterilizing means of transport, government offices, and tourist attractions.

Moreover, the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli further announced ion Tuesday a partial curfew nationwide from 7:00 evening to 6:00 morning and complete shutdown of all entertainment places for the coming two weeks.
