President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled to arrive on Monday in a two-day visit to Paris to meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and other senior officials, including French Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly to discuss ways of boosting bilateral cooperation as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
It is expected that the presidents of the two nations will review the holding of the International Peace Conference to revive the peace process in the Middle East under the new US administration.
It is noteworthy that the joint naval air training "Medusa 10" between Egypt, France, Cyprus, Greece and the United Arab Emirates concluded on Sunday, December 6.
France has become the main supplier of arms to Egypt between the years 2013 and 2017, overtaking the United States.
In 2017 alone, it handed over military equipment worth more than 1.4 billion euros, including warships, combat aircraft, and armored vehicles.
In the same context enjoy cultural and educational cooperation, including French archaeological missions in Egypt and a French university in Cairo.
France will also send an expert to examine the possibility of repairing a clock in the Castle of Muhammad Ali, given by France in 1845.
As for cooperation in the field of transport, France supports Egypt in several projects, including the Cairo Metro.
