Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a high-level meeting today to discuss the latest developments and logistical arrangements for the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), scheduled to take place on November 1st.

The meeting included Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, and focused on the overall readiness of the museum as well as the surrounding area’s infrastructure and services.

According to Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the President was briefed on the full scope of the executive and logistical preparations, including the final phases of construction, interior installations, and the setup for the grand inauguration ceremony. The update also covered ongoing development projects around the Giza Plateau, where the museum is located, aiming to enhance the visitor experience and ensure smooth access for guests and tourists.

The Grand Egyptian Museum, considered the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization, will house over 100,000 artifacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection displayed together for the first time. Its strategic location near the Pyramids of Giza positions it as a global cultural landmark and a cornerstone of Egypt’s tourism strategy.
