Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed Cairo’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to Lebanon during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

According to Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the call addressed the latest regional developments and the situation in Lebanon amid escalating tensions.

President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s full support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity. He also voiced Cairo’s backing for the Lebanese state’s efforts to strengthen the authority of national institutions across the entire country.

The Egyptian leader noted that Egypt is intensifying diplomatic efforts at both regional and international levels to shield Lebanon from the consequences of the ongoing escalation in the region. He emphasized the importance of strong Arab and international support for Lebanon during what he described as a critical period.

During the conversation, President Aoun expressed appreciation for Egypt’s consistent stance in support of Lebanon and its continued commitment to the country’s security and stability. He said Egypt’s position reflects the longstanding and historic ties between the two nations and their peoples.

Aoun also briefed El-Sisi on the Lebanese government’s efforts to consolidate state authority, including steps to regulate weapons and strengthen state institutions. He further outlined the humanitarian challenges resulting from the current conflict.

President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s solidarity with Lebanon in facing these challenges and confirmed Cairo’s readiness to provide the necessary relief assistance, particularly to help address the humanitarian impact of displacement caused by ongoing military operations.
