President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated the fourth phase of Cairo Metro’s third line and laid the foundation stone of Adly Mansour interchange station, one of the major central stations that will connect the New Administrative Capital (NAC) with all the country’s cities and governorates.
The inauguration was attended by former interim President Judge Adly Mansour, Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Ali Abdel-Aal, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and a number of ministers and state officials.
"Our goal is to develop the road network and provide an outstanding service to citizens," the President said.
Sisi affirmed that the state spares no effort to make things easier for citizens and that building violations and encroachments impede the implementation of road projects; thus, the state bears additional costs for carrying out road development projects.
Sisi Greets Egyptians on Islamic New Year
"I am not against the idea that people build, but we must build in a way that causes no problems. Such encroachment will continue for 100 years. We cannot implement our projects the way we did to solve (Benha - Mansoura) axis crisis because enormous costs will be incurred," he added.
Sisi congratulated the Egyptian people on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
He welcomed the former interim President Adly Mansour during his presence at the inauguration activities of the station bearing his name.
President Sisi described former President Adly Mansour as a great patriotic figure who has played a significant role in the most difficult stages in Egypt’s history.
Moreover, he extended thanks and appreciation to the government for the great efforts it exerted to implement development plans, stressing that we aim to develop the neediest villages via making integrated projects.
"We continue to implement comprehensive development plans in various governorates and the government is making great efforts to promote the transport sector, " Sisi noted.
The president stressed on providing transport services at a real cost to citizens to maintain their high quality.
He emphasized that the Egyptian state has achieved good and unexpected success in confronting the coronavirus since the beginning of the crisis.
He also emphasized on the need to continue taking precautionary measures to combat the coronavirus, especially next winter as schools and universities are reopening. We aim to prevent the rise in coronavirus infections among citizens.
Sisi also gave directives for ending all the measures taken against building violations during the six-month period.
At the end of the opening, the president went on a tour of inspection of the project; Judge Adly Mansour, accompanied by a number of young people, unveiled the memorial plaque of the project.
